Extracurricular Events

The OMYGA engages in a variety of additional golf activities during the year as follows:

Tuesday Practice
On Tuesdays students have the option of meeting at the J.B. Callahan Center in Downtown Orlando for a few hours of practice and training. Dr. Dorsey is always there to teach and parent/instructors make themselves available to assist as well.

Wednesday Practice

The Boggy Creek Facility is used on Wednesdays to provide optional practice to highly motivated students wanting to further improve their golf skills.

Invitational Tournaments

Invitational tournaments provide students with the opportunity to compete with other OMYGA students, youth from other golf programs and members of senior golf communities as well. Some of these include: The OMYGA Invitational Tournament at Dubsdread Golf Course, The OMYGA Annual Junior Golf Championship at Disney World golf courses as well as the Zellwood Golf Association Senior-Junior Tournament.

Golf Related Events

Other extracurricular activities include: The Drive, Chip and Putt Contest, the Tavistock Cup, the Ginn Open, and the Children Miracle Network.

Disney Clinics

The OMYGA also participates in three Disney Golf Clinics during the year.

Intra Program Golf Challenges

The OMYGA engages on intra skills challenges to encourage the students to experience competition while improving their golf skills.

The Vivienne Lewis Day is a great festivity observed on October 6 at our Boggy Creek Training Facility in honor to our sponsor Mrs. Vivienne Lewis.

The Fourth of July is celebrated at Boggy Creek as well.
